Suzan Crowley is a British/American dual national an actress and producer, known for playing Maria Rossi in The Devil Inside, Mrs Pierrepoint in The Draughtsman’s Contract, Anouk in Born of Fire, Francesca da Rimini on A TV Dante, directed by Peter Greenaway, Nikki Lucas The Knock [LWT], Detective Inspector Helen Chivers Back Up [BBC TV], Lexi in Dennis Potter’s Christabel.
2012 saw the opening phenom of feature film The Devil Inside, directed by Wm Brent Bell with Suzan playing the iconic role of Maria Rossi.
Born in North Lincolnshire daughter ofDr Peter & Mrs Joy Crowley, Suzan attended Queenswood School in Potters Bar, north of London and then joined the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. Encouraged by National Youth Theatre directors, Michael Croft and Paul Hill, Suzan went on to attend The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
Suzan has worked in repertory theatre all over the British Isles; notably at The Salisbury Playhouse starring as Fancy Day in Under The Greenwood Tree, directed by Patrick Garland, which transferred to London’s West End and The Vaudeville Theatre. In Semi Monde at The Glasgow Citizens Theatre, Top Girls directed by Jonathan Church at Plymouth, in The Heidi Chronicles at Greenwich, in The Old Country at Liverpool Playhouse and the ten play cycle The Warp with Ken Campbell at Liverpool Everyman.
Suzan just completed filming on the Lifetime movie Liz & Dick, starring Lindsay Lohan. Among a myriad of TV appearances [see IMDB] Crowley appeared in Just William for LWT directed by John Davis, Treatment for BBC Play for Today directed by Chris Menaul, Dennis Potter's Christabel directed by Adrian Shergold, with Elizabeth Hurley and Stephen Dillane. Suzan went on to work with Adrian again on Will You Love Me Tomorrow with Johanna Whalley, and Hold The Back Page starring David Warner, for the BBC, and in the LWT TV Series The Knock playing David Morrissey's partner in HM Government's undercover Customs & Excise unit. Suzan also starred in ITV’s series PD James' Devices & Desires, which played on Masterpiece Theatre and the BBC series Back Up, as a corrupt detective chief inspector Helen Chivers.
Currently Suze is recording author Robin Maxwell's new novel Jane : The Woman Who Loved Tarzan, and the novels Mademoiselle Boleyn and The Secret Diary of Anne Boleyn for Brilliance Audio.
Suzan worked on the documentaries Brits Abroad and The Science of Lying for Discovery, and with Anthony produced the short film Crime Scene, but is most proud of producing the independant feature film Wild About Harry for Cape Cod Films LLC, which won Best of FEST at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
